Hey! I’m Lucy, and welcome to Twin Willows Collection! Baking has always been a passion of mine, but fresh bread… oh wow, fresh bread has truly changed my life. It’s so biblical, too — God created our bread to sustain us, and making it myself has been such a blessing.
I first got the idea from my Aunt Danae. She makes fresh pancakes for her kids every morning using freshly milled flour, and I was inspired! I had to convince my parents to get me a $300 flour mill (it took some work 😅), and my nana gave me her old bread maker — old but perfect.
Making bread is a little process, but it’s so worth it. Milling the flour takes about an hour and a half for eight loaves, and I pre-measure and freeze it until I’m ready to bake. All the ingredients are real — water, honey, oil, salt, flour, and yeast — no fake stuff. The first loaf I made? Totally disgusting 😆 Crumbly, hard, not enough honey or moisture. But I kept trying… and now I have a perfected recipe that tastes amazing, especially fresh from the bread maker with a little butter. Mmmm.
I even sell some to my grandparents, but that’s not why I do it. It’s about the love, care, and health in every loaf. Fresh bread has all the nutrients you need daily (except vitamin D — thanks, sun 🌞!). And the best part? It reminds me of Jesus — the bread of life and the living water. Just like He gives us all we need to truly live, fresh bread nourishes and sustains us too.
Making bread has become my passion, and I plan to continue every day. Milling, mixing, baking — it’s hard work, but it’s also one of the greatest blessings I’ve ever had. I’m so thankful I get to share it with you here on Twin Willows Collection!
